Townes Van Zandt was a country musician from Texas. He began his career in Houston and while he toured and was loved outside of Texas, he was very much a Texan musician. Compared to the length of his career, his recorded output was relatively small, only ten albums released in over 25 years. But his impact was large. His work influenced such big names as Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Emmylou Harris and is still enjoyed today.
