Vintage Alpha Industries US Navy “Utility” Deck Jacket

Throughout the 1940s there were a group of companies all making flight jackets and selling them to the US military. When they lost government contracts, once for an accusation of bribing the Department of Defense, they would just change their name or move locations. Eventually, Alpha Industries was born in 1959 in Knoxville, TN, their most significant contribution being the invention of the Flight Jacket in 1963. This Utility Jacket, deadstock in original bag, is from that early era of Alpha Industries, a subtle piece of militaria with vintage American craftsmanship that such a piece deserves.
