Artist Carl Smool began making shirts in 1988. He traveled to Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco and got a rep in each city to begin selling his El Did De Los Muertos-inspired designs, making his small company a coast-to-coast operation. This original Smool Design shirt, deadstock with light yellow marks from prolonged storage, features an illustration of three wise skeletons - seeing no evil, hearing no evil, and speaking no evil.
