The Story
The Charlotte Hornets are a professional basketball. They were founded as an expansion team in 1988. They found fast success in the early 1990s with the All Star lineup of Alonzo Mourning, Larry Johnson, and Muggsy Bogues. They quickly became playoff contenders, although the team was slowly traded away by the end of the decade. The team was moved to New Orleans in the early 2000s and the Charlotte team became the Bobcats, however the new team only lasted until 2014 when the Hornets returned to Charlotte.
