They tied the ride into The Twilight Zone which gave it a spooky, sci fi ambiance and also gave it a great story and great visuals. The ride quickly became one of the most popular attractions at the park and spread to Tokyo Disney Sea, and Disneyland Paris. It was also at Disneyland but they closed the ride in 2017.
