The Story
Metallica released Ride The Lightning in 1984. It was their second full length and came quickly behind their debut which was only released a year prior. While Metallica was well-known in the thrash metal world and signed to a substantial independent metal label (Megaforce), they were still grinding it out. After feeling unsatisfied with Megaforce's performance, Metallica ended up signing with Elektra, a major label, who quickly re-released the album. Their popularity continued to grow and grow with each record until they were the biggest band in the world in just a few short years. This original Metallica shirt, nicely worn in great condition, is an early version of their 1985 tour in support of Ride The Lightning.
