Zorlac was a skateboard company founded in 1976. The brand was started by Jeff Newton and was originally based out of Dallas, TX. They sponsored skaters like Craig Johnson and John Gibson, but they also were involved in music. They worked with Texas punks Big Boys as well as thrash legends Metallica to create decks and merchandise. There wasn't a more punk brand. Their graphics were evil and dark, thanks to their chief artist Pushead, and their shapes were jagged and extreme. While companies like Powell put skulls on their boards to appeal to those who flirted with the countercultural sect, Zorlac was the countercultural sect. They were intentionally anti-mainstream and intimidating. Which is perhaps why they went out of business in 1991. But their legacy, from their boards to their ads, is still an integral part of skateboarding history. This original Zorlac deck, never skated in new old stock condition, features a Metallica graphic drawn by the amazing Pushead.
