Operation Ivy were a ska punk band from Berkeley, CA. Founded in 1987, only released two records, both on Lookout! Records: 1988's Hectic EP and 1989's Energy LP. It was an amalgamation of different underground sounds played in a scrappy style. They were mainstays at 924 Gilman and helped solidify the sound of the East Bay. While their tenure was short, their impact was massive, partially because of guitarist Tim Armstrong's next band: Rancid. This original Operation Ivy shirt fro 1988 is nicely faded.
