Robert Crumb, the legendary underground comic artist, created his character Fritz The Cat as a child. Crumb continued drawing the cat and published Fritz stories in many different publications throughout the 60s and it ultimately was contentiously made into an animated movie in 1972 which inevitably caused Crumb to retire Fritz. His work defined a generation and has gone on to be some of the most important work of the 20th century, finding a strange section between high and low brow, thoughtful and grotesque, daily life and abnormal. This original Fritz The Cat shirt from 1997 is nicely worn and lightly faded.
