Vintage De La Soul "The Grind Date" Promotional T-Shirt

De La Soul, the legendary rap trio from New York, released The Grind Date, their seventh album, in 2004. The group had formed over a decade earlier and made a name for themselves right from the start with the release of their debut album 3 Feet High And Rising. They established themselves as one of the main proponents of a new scene, one focused on a deep appreciation of music which they showcased in their sampling paired with thoughtful and serious raps while also having a little bit of fun throughout. The Grind Date continued that trajectory, as they worked with such produced as J Dilla, Madlib, and 9th Wonder among others. It went to #87 on Billboard's Top 200, and all the way to #17 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop chart. This original De La Soul shirt, nicely worn and faded, is from the 2004 release of The Grind Date.
