The Story
The Flaming Lips released At War With The Mystics, their eleventh album, in 2006. The Oklahoma City-based psych rock group had already been at it for over two decades at that point, having formed in 1983 and having enjoyed a pretty successful career with mainstream popularity coming their way at the end of the 190s after signing to Warner Bros. At War With The Mystics followed that trajectory, going to #11 on the Billboard charts and winning multiple Grammys, for Best Rock Instrumental Performance and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. This original Flaming Lips shirt, with a few pinholes and a small tear on the pit area, was purchased at a concert on tour when the band was supporting At War With The Mystics.
