Undertow were a straight edge hardcore band from Settle, WA. They were founded in 1990, a liminal phase in hardcore. The second wave bands were all on their way out and the youth crew style that was especially prevalent across the country at the end of the 1980s was also out of vogue. Undertow, who were fronted by John Pettibone didn't fit neatly into any of those categories, and Seattle at the time was much more focused on grunge, but they began writing their own music their way. It was abrasive and somewhat dark, creating a new sound and scene in their wake. This original blue text Undertow 1990 Demo is in VG+ condition.
