Nelson Mandela was the President of South Africa. But before he was the President, he was a revolutionary serving over 20 years in jail for conspiring to overthrow the state. Mandela was integral in helping end the apartheid in South Africa for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. He served as the first ever President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999 and retired from capitol-P Politics after, dedicating the rest of his life to activism and philanthropy. Mandela passed away in 2013 at the age of 95. This vintage Nelson Mandela shirt is deadstock with a few light spots and marks from prolonged storage.
